One Day in Manila, Philippines

I first heard about One Day on Earth from my colleague Galvin. It seemed like a great project for our students, and we spent some time on Friday talking about the event and how we could encourage our students to participate. We decided to promote the project among our IB students and our Club NExT (technology club) members. Eventually the conversation turned to our own ideas. We decided that we ought to… Continue

10-10-10

So today would be my mom's 78th birthday---heck, it still is, she just is not with us since she passed away on July 14th. What a cool birthday to have.

I am dedicating this day to her, the exceptional, though difficult at times =) mom that always had my back and was the woman who gave me life. And on a Sunday makes this day even more special for me since it aligns with my religious beliefs.

I will spend today in her honor thinking of the good times, the tender moments, and… Continue

101010 #06 melody

18:14 i've been having a break around 16:00 to help my son with his homework (like learning all the names of the capitals of European countries and the date when they each joined the EEC...)
I've added some piano to the track + a tape delay to make it really smooth and light.
i've also added different drum sounds to get some more energy at some times.
I'm thiniking of adding a bass now for the middle part.

Kaiserswerth!

so, on the spur of the moment, i decided to go for it!

i filmed a nice average lazy afternoon in kaiserswerth, the little town i live in.

it is situated just north of Düsseldorf, and i tried to show the closeness of our community, so i ran around with a friend and captured some of the areas in and around the town :)

10.10.10

I am listening to birds sing in Savannah, Georgia. Just finished my breakfast of free-range chicken eggs and toast, coffee, juice. Cats are frolicking, insects flittering. Soon I will get dressed and drive to my Sunday meditation group. Later, I will attend a folk music festival.

Life is good but also hard. I am a high school English teacher who has published two novels and a book of poetry but can't quite make ends meet on my salary living alone, as I do now. I am grateful…

101010 #05 composing

15:08 i've added the sounds recorded this morning to the track + added some reverb + some reverse effect on some parts + cut & pasted some others, then tried to make them match the track progression and i must say, we have something not too horrible here.
