One Day on Earth: Who are you and what is your profession?
François: I am François Grumelin-Sohn aka Kadavre Exquis. I received a graphic design education, before moving to animation & moving image. I am also composing music.

One Day on Earth: Can you tell us a little about your background and upbringing?
François: I always drew and I decided my life would be based on that. In graphic design, I learnt a lot about the image, but I figured out I was more inspired when it was moving so I moved on to animation even if I still continue to practice graphic design and drawing.

One Day on Earth: What inspired you to become a filmmaker?
François: The fact that it was the medium using everything I was truly in love with, image, music, story. It is a unique combination which can be rarely found in other department of art.

One Day on Earth: Who or what do you most admire?
François: I admire nature. My trip to Antarctica changed radically my point of view on nearly everything.

One Day on Earth: What do you have?
François: Ideas.

One Day on Earth: What do you need?
François: A penguin.

One Day on Earth: What are you planning on filming for 12.12.12?
François: Not sure yet but it will probably take place in Paris. I need to be surprised!
