What an adventures day today!I

When I woke up this morning I did not know I would be focused on filming my son in support of Down syndrome Awareness Month and One Day on Earth. After I heard about One Day On Earth this morning, and realized there was only one other person on hear sharing their story about Down syndrome I decided to go for it.

What I did not expect was it to be so hard.

I was able to get photos of CJ my son not a problem. But taking the videos that was a challenge.

You see, my son CJ is 8 and has Down syndrome. I had hoped today to attempt to just raise a little more awareness about Down syndrome. In the Month of October there is so much that goes on that Down syndrome Awareness Month really has a hard time getting heard. This was a perfect opportunity.

I am not familiar with taking videos, especially from my camera that I am used to taking so many pictures with.

The challenge for me was I could not take my eyes off my son. So the videos are in bits and pieces through out the day. Now I will have to figure out how to edit them, and blend them all into one video.

Early this afternoon when everyone got home they wanted to go out on the boat. I though great, but I was also in the middle of editing photos and clearing my memory card. Well I was rushed, and I accidentally deleted one of the most important videos I took today. I am hoping I can find it in a temp file somewhere. Needless to say I was aggravated by it.

My son was great today! I am not sure he quite new what was going on since I am always taking pictures of him anyway. It was not until tonight when he was tired that he began to become uncooperative. It was a challenge, being a mom always comes first.

Over all I had a blast! I wish I had been more prepared, but it worked. We had fun. I hope that by sharing some of our life in the world of Down syndrome I can shed a little awareness. Even If I reach one person, I succeeded.
