The World's Story is Yours to Tell

This week we are proud to present our friend and co-founder of Alpine Light Pictures, Inc., Megan Leigh Sweeney.

Who are you and what is your profession?
I'm Megan Sweeney & I love to document life, especially anything adventurous and unordinary. I direct, shoot, & edit.

Can you tell us a little about your background and upbringing?
I was born in Philadelphia and grew up in Valley Forge, PA. As soon as I turned 19 I found myself in Los Angeles attending the University of Southern California where I studied film. I always wanted to make movies since I was little and can not imagine doing anything else. I am the product of an artist and lawyer, thus I love to document life.

What inspired you to be a filmmaker?
This might sound cheesy, but I can't remember not loving the idea of making films. The best way I know how to express myself is through video. My Mom is an inspiration, she is a wonderful painter, and my Dad inspires me, as an ambitious lawyer. I like to document.

Who are your heroes?
My Grandma, Charlotte. She is my hero because she loved life and people. She was open-minded, adventurous, and giving. She was born and spent her entire life in New York City. She rarely complained even when she was sick. The list continues to expand.

What do you feel you want to shoot on 10.10.10?
I would like to shoot something very unusual and adventurous. The subject will probably be a friend with a strong passion for an outdoor sport. I think the hardest and best part of life is finding what you love to do & doing it. I will attempt to show this through my friend.

Why is this important to you?
This subject is important to me in general because I think if everyone found their passion people would be happier, therefore relationships would be stronger. Happiness is important to success, productivity, and it affects everyone.

Tell us a little bit about what is happening for your right now and what your current projects maybe.
I am currently living in Colorado freelance directing, shooting, & editing. I recently created a local travel show, The DC, and a weekly web series, The Founders. I'm on the verge of making some big changes and the future is a good question.
