Can you tell us a little about your background and upbringing? I am a Vietnam veteran... a Navy medic assigned to the Marines... wounded during the Battle of Hue during the Tet Offensive in 1968. Before becoming a journalist, I was a firefighter/EMT. I also owned a boat store and commercial diving service.
I became a writer first, then a photojournalist. I tried my hand at screenwriting and got lucky. Then I became more interested in the production process.
What inspired you to be a filmmaker? I never aspired to be involved in TV or filmmaking, it just happened and here I am.
Who are your heroes? I think the word "hero" is over-used. Heroes, to me, are people who know the possibility of severe injury or death is very real if they chose to get involved in emergency situations, and they do it anyway.
What story do you want to tell on 10.10.10? I would like to spotlight the Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center.
Why is this important to you? I'm a critter person. I like critters more than I do many people. And the folks there do good work.
