Exams

While the rest of the world does...all sorts of things today, I'll be doing 3 in particular:

(1) preparing for Christmas. 12th December is halfway through advent. My advent candle will be half burnt. My shopping will be less than half done. But my heart will be more than half full waiting for Christmas to come.

(2) sitting an exam. The afternoon of 12th December is the day I'll sit my first university exam in over 12 years. I'll be with hundreds of other students at Edinburgh Uni sitting exams that day. For me, it's the first of my exams towards getting a batchelor of divinity - the qualification I'm doing as part of training to be a minister.

(3) spending time with people I love. After my exam I'm heading over to have tea with my brother and sister in law, and my niece and nephew. This will be my nephew's 1st Christmas and my niece's 3rd. Sharing the preparation and the excitement with them is one of the BEST things :-)
