While the rest of the world does...all sorts of things today, I'll be doing 3 in particular:

(1) preparing for Christmas. 12th December is halfway through advent. My advent candle will be half burnt. My shopping will be less than half done. But my heart will be more than half full waiting for Christmas to come.

(2) sitting an exam. The afternoon of 12th December is the day I'll sit my first university exam in over 12 years. I'll be with hundreds of other students at Edinburgh…
