Hi Marat!
We are so happy that you are planning on filming on 12.12.12 in Kazakhstan! The theme does not have to be followed, it will be a thread in the film. However, if it does spark interest in you here are some examples of how you could look at the the theme... and yes the theme is broad, which is intended in order to collect multiple perspectives on the topic. The theme can be approached from a personal point of view, for example, what you have in your life that you are grateful for and what you still desire to attain in a life... maybe a goal of some sort. The theme could also be approached from a more macro view in which you illustrate for example what your community/environment has and what it needs... this could also be a potential way to get attention and maybe even help your community. Really looking forward to seeing what you document this year! Please reach-out with any additional concerns!

Hello, Marissa.
My best idea is to try and cover an upcoming project of building a ski resort in a place that is now a national nature park. It is quite a battle now, as local ecology NGOs and social groups are trying their best opposing city authorities to prevent harm to the unique ecosystem. But I'm afraid there's not much going on yet, just planning.
I'm not sure I got the theme you suggested - it seems quite broad.

Hello One Day On Earth Kazakhstan!
We are getting very excited for our filming around the world on 12.12.12. and are so happy for your participation in representing Kazakhstan! We do have a theme if you are looking for some inspiration for what to film. The theme is "What do you have?" and "What do you need?". Does anyone have any ideas about what they would like to document on 12.12.12? Please contact us with any questions regarding the project!
