- Kodachrome film was phenomenally sharp, bright, and archival. But it has been discontinued and Paul Kyte gave me two rolls of 35mm Kodachrome slide film which has to be processed before the end of the year when the last processing line in America shuts down. So on 10/10/10 I will be shooting those last two rolls in Portland Oregon and shooting video of the process. then scans of the images and the accompanying video will go to One Day On Earth. It seems an auspicious way to pay tribute to a bit of technology that has been so important to me.
My last roll of Kodachrome slides
Kodak stopped making their stellar film stock. Paul Kyte gave me two rolls, and I will shot them in Portland on 10/10/10, and film the taking of them, and upload the slides and the video.

Hey John, how was your 12.12.12? :) Did you end up getting rain or shine?
That's a good idea! Best to plan for rain or sun because you never know what you'll get. But that's the beaut of this format, right? :) I'm looking forward to seeing what you film!
Your video for 10.10.10 commemorating your mother-in-law was really beautiful. I like the way you filmed various closeups of the rain around your yard. Are you thinking about doing something again this year for 12.12.12?
