People and places that are frozen in time.

In 2008 I moved from a major metropolitan center to a rural town in Montana, USA. My wired life, my dependance on techology and my "progressive" thoughts, the thoughts that were so highly valued by those in the city, were utterly useless in the context of this one stoplight town. This place and many of the people here are frozen in time. Everything is slow, everyone is connected in some way. People look you in the eye with an expectation of authenticity.

It has taken me 5 years to even begin to assimilate. I know many people who don't own cell phones and many more who have never used text. I know many people who don't have a computer and many more who don't use the internet.

This place is unplugged and yet more connected than anywhere I have ever lived.
