Who are you and what is your profession?
I'm a musician, sound engineer and photographer from Lima- Peru. Most of the time I produce commercials for my own production company and advertising agency. I also play the drums for the Peruvian metal bands M.A.S.A.C.R.E and Cuchillazo, among other music projects.
Can you tell us a little about your background and upbringing?
I'm a self taught person. I've went to college, but most things I know about music, audio, graphic design, video and photography were all gained by research, personal interest, practice and actual jobs.
What inspired you to be a filmmaker?
When I was a kid, my father was a gadget reseller, so I got the chance to play a lot with cameras, camcorders, tape recorders and such during my childhood. Those gadgets became my favorite toys. Since then I've been always interested in music, audio and video. Today I'm not a movie geek, but I like to watch and capture the beauty of real life. For me, having a camera and some lenses in the backpack is like being a hunter. Once in post, it's all about the music. I think music and audio brought me into film making.
Who are your heroes?
David Lynch, William Friedkin, Walter Murch, Bon Scott, César Cueto and Ronnie James Dio.
What story do you want to tell on 10.10.10?
Stories happen all the time, everywhere. I'd be happy just to catch one of them. I don't know what exactly 10.10.10 has planed for me, but I live in a picturesque town where we could see many things happening all the time.
Why is this important to you?
Because this is a great opportunity to show our love for this planet. People all over the world will be working on the same project at the same time. That's historic. Being part of such enormous project is really exciting.
