The World's Story is Yours to Tell

7:01 am November 11, 2011

It’s normal that I always wake up shaking. That’s how my dad got me up every morning; it’s one of the few ways that would actually get me out of bed. But, I had my of revolting against getting up by taking the longest time possible to drag myself out of bed and to the bathroom. While in there, I reviewed what my day would look like: One test, one quiz, some lectures, and my little sister’s birthday party. It wasn’t actually her birthday; we were just celebrating it today because her birthday falls around the time Thanksgiving and everyone is always out of town at that time. The funny thing was that today was 11/11/11 and my sister’s actual birthday was 11 days away!

I got down stairs a little earlier than usual probably because the smell of bacon and biscuits motivated me to get ready faster. Unfortunately, after I ate, I was forcibly shoved out the door. My mom handed me my book bag, backpack, lunch, and water bottles into my hands and closed the door after saying a quick goodbye to me.

After successively dropping my siblings off at their school and laying a few cuss words at a driver who cut my dad off, my dad finally pulled into my school parking lot only to find that the drop off line wasn’t moving at all, so he dropped me off at the school parking lot and drove off to his work. Thus started my long day.

Everyone has some sort of recording device to record her day for 11/11/11. They were all excited to be breaking the rules of having their phones out in class ever since they started to seriously get down on us for misusing out electronics we finally couldn’t get in trouble for “breaking” one of the rules today.

11:11 am November 11, 2011

Apparently it’s 11:11 right now. I’m in Peer Ministry meetings eating lunch and trying to figure out a way to get out of it. It’s not that I don’t like talking with some of the seniors, I just don’t like eating on the floor, singing songs, and listening to one of the teachers talk about how to survive high school, I would rather be in study hall right now trying to get some of my homework done.

3:10 pm November 11, 2011

Finally! The school day is finally over! Now I have to just get through helping 10 3rd graders and 3 5th graders play laser tag and then I have the whole weekend to myself! I wonder how well this night will go…

7:41 pm November 11, 2011

I think I should have stayed home. 5 minutes into the party, the girls have already taken over the small arcade here and have unsuccessfully tried to play every game without tokens. It would be cute if you could mute their screaming voices. Judging from how they took over the arcade, I wouldn’t be surprised if third graders took over the world.

8:03 pm November 11, 2011

A little girl from my sister’s birthday party came up to me and dragged me to a laser obstacle. You had to get to the other side and back without touching any of the lasers. When it came to be my turn, she made me do hard. I hit 11 out of 18 lasers. She did hard to and hit only one. I blame that I’m not flexible.

8:23 pm November 11, 2011

That little girl that dragged me to the obstacle came up to me again. She took my hand and began to walk with me to the arcade. On the way she told me, “You’re like an older sister to me.” That made my day so much! No one has ever told me that before! Maybe this party wasn’t such a bad idea after all.

9:13 pm November 11, 2011

The party is finally over and I’m finally home. I’m going to bed. Guess I won’t be staying up for 11:11 after all!
