J.D. GERSHBEIN: LINKEDIN TOWN HALL MEETING

On the 10th Anniversary of LinkedIn, J.D. Gershbein invited everyone to the LinkedIn Town Hall Meeting at the Cindy Pritzker Auditorium sponsored by Linda Wolf from Career Moves at JVS Chicago on Monday, June 3, 2013, hosted by the Harold Washington Public Library in Chicago. Greg from the Business & Technology Department introduced the LinkedIn Town Hall Meeting at 5:30 PM.

Linda Wolf presented the Speaker, J.D. Gershbein who is one of the world's top LinkedIn scholars since the inception of the business social network. Since 2009, J.D. Gershbein has popularized the LinkedIn Town Hall Meeting. Career Moves JVS Chicago endorses this Open Forum by LinkedIn which networks and gathers the professional community in person to present Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) and challenges to be answered by J.D. Gershbein during the live public LinkedIn session.

In 2009, President Barack Obama staged a series of town hall meetings as a means of dealing with the irrepressible controversy over the country's healthcare delivery system. Borrowing that strategy, J.D. Gershbein, Consultant and Speaker for LinkedIn Best Practices, held a number of town hall meetings at various venues dedicated to answering questions on LinkedIn. These were well attended and extremely well-received.

♦ THE STATE OF LINKEDIN
The latter half of 2012 will go down as the period during which the LinkedIn site underwent the most radical transformational change in its history. Many people are still trying to find their way on this social networking site as it continues to evolve. There are more features coming, new strategies to learn and incredible benefits that are possible for those who opt to do the work. The premise of LinkedIn remains the same: People are looking to make quality connections, land a job, advance an existing career, develop a strong, recognizable brand, and generate new business opportunities. For many, that is easier said than done.

♦ THE LINKEDIN TOWN HALL MEETING
In light of all the changes, and to help people cope with LinkedIn overwhelming business social network, J.D. Gershbein is reprising the LinkedIn Town Hall Meeting.
