A Basic Chain of Survival Training for Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation with Automated Electronic Defibrillator To Start The Heart

The DuPage Health Department sponsored the Basic Training Chain of Survival in Lombard along with Jim Stahl, from DuPage First Responders Paramedics, Omar Walker from Code Red, Brian Heriaud from Cardiac Science, Paul DiRienzo, Lombard Emergency Medical Services Paramedics, and Health Department Staff last October 1st, 2011 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Lombard resident homeowners Marvin and Mary Kay Schulgen, among others participated in the Saturday morning Start The Heart CPR/AED training in less than 45 minutes.

Cardiac Science AED monitor devices are available at a cost of $1,500 each. The Lombard Police Department alone has purchased 22 AED computer-assisted monitors at a cost of $33,000 for the community and Lombard resident homeowners, taxpayers, etc.
