We are a blog all about life in the city of St. John's, Newfoundland. My personal background is in filmmaking, I work as a shooter and editor, so this project has me really excited.
I'd like to explore the conflicting nature of my city and province's activities on a global scale. We've recently gone from being relatively impoverished to relatively rich thanks to our most recently discovered natural resource, oil. Factor in our depletion of the cod stocks and our controversial stance on the seal hunt (most of us, including myself, support it for reasons far beyond the average petition-signing, well-meaning individual would ever care to know), and it's easy to see how we might be judged as having lost our way. I don't think it's quite that simple, and it's the complexity of our overal picture that I'd like to explore and expose to the rest of the world.
