- Reducing unemployment and inequalities in Tunisia’s underprivileged areas is the goal of the African Development Bank’s Souk At-Tanmia project. On 26 September 300 candidates among youths willing to set up their own business were pre-selected as part of the pilot initiative for economic development led by the AfDB and 18 partners.
On 12.12.12 we followed one of the winners of the Souk initiative into the heart of Tunis's Mehdina where artistry and hand made craftsmanship still has its place. Mr.Chaieb invented a new technology to enable women tapestry makers to maximize their efficiency by cutting out some unnecessary steps in their work . By doing so they can work better, faster and increase their income. Follow us into the magical world of tapistry and into his dream now becoming reality .
