Lighting candles

Buddhist followers light candles during Khao Phansa otherwise known as Buddhist Lent celebrations. The ceremony marks the beginning of the Buddhist “rain retreat” or “Phansa” (Buddhist Lent), during which all Buddhist monks retreat to the temples.
