The main spring head is housed in this cave.

The cave is closed to swimmers becasue someone died here, but occasionally county biologists/divers have been seen going in to take a look around. At Wekiva Springs (another attached springhead a few miles down river) a new species of curstacean was identified living in the underwater caves just a few years ago by these same biologists/divers. Becasue the crustacean lived ion total darkness, its body is completely see through. No need for pigment without light.
