Somewhere along the way to Kytes Island, in an unmarked long stretch measuring a considerable land plot along the beach, this vast waste-dump is located. With the wind carrying the cellophane further distances, the waste pit extended many miles inland. As we left the location, a tractor entered the area with a heavy load of waste matter, indicating that the area is the official and preferred dumping ground for mainland Jaffna.
