The Murder Capital of the World

In the deserts of Juarez, Mexico, it was quiet and still on Oct. 10, 2010. But warring drug cartels have claimed more than 6,500 victims in four years in this community across from El Paso, Texas. Still, the Mexican people have hope, and wait for volunteers like those from Casas por Cristo who come to build homes. Where people pile together pallets, cardboard and weathered castoffs to create lean-to shelters, they are gifted with brand new, two-room homes at no cost.
