Hayward "Heart of the Bay" Community Gardens Work Party

With the help of City employees and equipment, Hayward residents took the first step to reclaim an abandoned railroad right of way across the street from the 5.3 acre Hayward Community Gardens with the ultimate goal of beautifying it for the neighborhood and making it a productive piece of land: "If you take care of the land, the land will take care of you."
