Das Daily Dump, Biocomposting Eco solution to reduce Carbon Emissions

These photographs were shot at Druk School, Thimphu, Bhutan on the occassion of One Day On Earth Global Video graphing Campaign on 10.10.10 for arriving to Eco Solutions to reduce Carbon Emissions and thereby making Earth a more greener and safer place to live in future. Our school was the only school chosen from Bhutan to participate in this global campaign. This campaign is supported by United Nations, Water.org, Creative Visions Foundation, Vimeo, UNDP, American Red Cross, WWF and OxFam. More than 240 counties around the globe are participating and Bhutan is one among Asia.
The idea was conceptualized by Mr. Arunava Das, Secondary Subject Specialist (Biology and Environmental Science), of Druk School, Thimphu, Bhutan and supported by the Principal, Madam Tshewang Choden Wangdi and the school board and management.
The idea, Das Daily Dump, is aimed at Recycling and Reusing Biodegradable School Wastes, like, Garden Wastes, Kitchen Wastes, and Food Leftovers, to produce Biocompost. In this way, we are reducing the volumes of wastes from school as well as helping in cutting down emissions of Methane (GHG) from wastes, one of the major factors contributing towards Global Warming and Climate Change.
Being a part of one of the smallest country of the world, we take pride in presenting our idea that we implemented successfully. We are doing something that will, in a small but collective way, help combat Global Warming.
