Thanks for joining One Day On Earth. I will be interested to watch your 12/12/12 footage relating to "water access in urban slums", as you described. It is an important issue and one worth sharing.
Please feel free to pass information along to your friends so they can join as well. We are excited to be able to share the Uganda experience. And let me know if you have any questions.
You can upload the footage any time after filming on December 12, 2012 and before January 15, 2013 which is the deadline for submissions.
As for the format, we accept all resolutions in the following file types: asf, asx, avi, divx, dv, dvx, m4v, mov, mp4, mpeg, mpg, qt, wmv, 3g2, 3gp, 3ivx and 3vx.
You can edit the footage or leave it raw, that is completely up to you. What we do ask is that you keep a backup copy of the raw footage for possible future use (whatever footage makes it into the final documentary needs to be taken from the raw and uncompressed video file).
All that is expected of the participant is that you film on December 12 to make sure that we get your story as part of the One Day On Earth experience. If you need inspiration on what to film, our theme this year is "What do you have" and "What do you own" but you are free to film anything you want.
Let me know if you have any more questions. Cheers!
