Hello Bruz! I would love to hear your track from 10.10.10. I am thinking that the juxtapostion of noises from the street mixed with a 24hour time lapse (which will work down to about 5 minutes) of the south pole station would be fabulous! One thing people don't often think of (when they imagine south pole) is the noises of bulldozers, the power plant, and snowmobiles as a continuous backdrop for the pristine beauty of nothing but snow and sunlight.

I can't wait to hear what you record!
  • James Travis III

I am hoping for a partly cloudy day with slow clouds that are very high. This would provide good sunlight and nice movement for the timelapse. What can I expect? Anything. The weather here is very unpredictable. Yesterday the temperature was -98F and clear, today it is -48F and cloudy/foggy.

To keep my camera from freezing, I use an underwater housing to keep it warm (it was broken by the postal service on the way down here). I can have the camera outside for about 45 minutes this way. I also have an insulated box that I keep warm with a heavy block of pre-heated steel. Depending on the wind, a camera will last from 3 to 15 minutes at -80F and below.

So awesome you're composing on 10/10/10!! Wish you could compose something to add on my video as well. I'll be flying over the Andes mountains, and I think I might use a track, or some from a Peruvian band, we'll see...
  • Natalie S

That is a beautiful piece of music....
  • Natalie S

Yes, I have seen it! Very relaxing ;)
  • Samantha Pagan

Watching your video now -- so cool! What program are you using?
  • Natalie S

    Awesome video! And cute cat!!
  • James Travis III

Hey Bruz, I loved the song. It is relaxing but I think that mixed with the snow and wind it may be a bit eerie. I would like to use it if you give me permission.
  • Alex Coffey

    really impressive work, bruz.

  • Karen Kiser

Thanks for your comment on the stamp! I got to the cute cat part and then my computer froze. :) I'll try again tomorrow. It's fun to see what others were creating on the same day.
  • Karen Kiser

Great job! You put in quite a full day. Very relaxing composition.
  • Karen Kiser

Yes, it helps a lot to have birds on your shoulder when carving a stamp. You could try carving a cat stamp with a cat on your shoulder?
  • Ana Antunes

  • One Day On Earth

    Really cool!
  • Karen Kiser

Yeah, that paper cut artist is really cool. I like the butterflies at the bottom of the page.

    Hey Bruz,
Everything is going well at the Pole. I have been super busy training the new crew and we had some heavy duty repairs to make in the past couple of weeks. I am waiting to get out of here so I can mail in my submissions. The upload speed here is atrocious. I will try to get my vids up in Vimeo when I get to Christchurch, NZ. They have plenty of Internet Cafes. I editted one section, the rest I just strung together so others can use it if they want. I have about 1.5 hours of footage.
  • Paul Amoruso

One of the best films I've seen yet! You make the music composition process so enjoyable to watch.
  • Ana Antunes

Hi, Bruz, I see you've been spolitghted. Congrats!!:)) I feel so honoured and lucky too that you allowed me to have your music in one of my videos. AWESOME!!

    Love,

    Ana

Hey Bruz. We connected a while back when ODE was fresh.... I am producing a yoga video and thinking that your music would be perfect. Please tell me how much you would charge to use existing music that you've already created.

    Peace and thanks,

    Craig
