Steve Douglas is a friend of mine who has some really good advice for converting your footage meant for Vimeo uploading. You can view his free tutorial on Compressor settings here (that is, if you're using compressor and FCP) http://www.kenstone.net/fcp_homepage/vimeo_hd_compressor_douglas.html
