Covered the devastating earthquake in Haiti focusing on the new generation of orphans as a result of the deadly quake. Covered Iraqi Security Forces Coalition Training for Iraqis before troops leave the war torn country in 2011.

As a news photojournalist at 7News KMGH_TV in Denver Jim was awarded 3 Heartland Emmys in the 2008 regional competition - for news feature work and news documentary photography. News Photojournalist with KWGN-TV and KTSM-TV Denver. Jim covered the Jon Benet Ramsey murder investigation, the grand jury case that ended with no indictment, the Oklahoma City Bombing trial of Tim McVeigh, Super Bowl XXXII and XXXIII, and two Stanley Cups. Jim is an avid cyclist and climber.

About Project Education Sudan:

Project Education Sudan (PES) is a US 501(c)(3) charitable organization, and a registered NGO with the Government of Southern Sudan Relief and Rehabilitation Commission. PES was created as a partnership of Sudanese and Americans in response to the destruction that resulted from the twenty-year civil war between northern and southern Sudan. Our mission is to help fund and assist indigenous Sudanese organizations and communities that create educational infrastructure in rural southern Sudan. We support building of primary and secondary schools, as well as adult education and teacher and leadership training. We believe that sustained prosperity and self-sufficiency in southern Sudan is dependent on the education of children and adults. We emphasize the inclusion of girls and women in the educational opportunities we promote. We work collaboratively with community leaders and village elders at four schools within three villages in south Sudan. All are located in the state of Jonglei. Jonglei Hope Secondary Academy & Marc Nikkel Primary in Maar, East Twic County; Ayak Anguei Girls' Primary in Konbek, and Pagook Secondary School in Pagook, both in Bor County.
