Dorothy, welcome to One Day on Earth. Regarding your concerns: sound is fine. It's just that legally, we aren't able to display footage with copyrighted music tracks.

Also, our video services will be enabled on 10.10.10, along with detailed instructions of the upload process. You will need a Vimeo account to upload.

Hello all, I am from Barrie, Ontario, Canada.
I am new to iEARN and I've decided to have my grade 9 Business students (intro to info tech) participate in this great experience of sharing. Oct 11 is Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada. Many people celebrate Thanksgiving on Sunday which is Oct 10. My plan is to have my students take pictures of their activities that day with family, friends, etc. We will then as a group (26 students and I) collaborate to create a video with moviemaker which will be a collage of all these pictures with commentary (written commentary to go with the pictures). I thought this would be better than each student creating their own videos.

Question 1: Why do they not want music or sound? Is this since it will be eaiser for them to take portions of the videos to include in the "world encompassing video"?

Question 2: I am still not clear where we upload these videos to and how we link them into iEARN, unless it is simply the URL link?

I look forward to seeing all of your vidoes.

On "World Homeless Day 10/10/10," we (Youth Foundation of Bangladesh) are going to organize a seminar; rally; make an announcement for a film contest about "Homelessness;" and arrange for a film showing on the life of the homeless. As you know, so many people have no homes or permanent jobs. As a result, we will try to arrange for both homes and employment for people, who are experiencing homelessness."

Hi everybody -
Be sure to check out the Educational Toolkits on the 'Education' link at the top of the page, and in particular take a look at the Projects - there are some great ideas for activities your students can get involved in on 10.10.10. Plus - if you like one of the activities, be sure to join its associated Group so you can be part of the discussions beforehand.

All the best-
Chris

The toolkits are amazing - a ton of great ideas. Have you all had a chance to look through them yet?

In addition to some great approaches for filming 10/10/10, the toolkits also answer a lot of common questions - file formats, rules, etc.
