Awesome Rick -- in 4 years living in Boston I never did get to make it to Salem for October (I had no car!). Hoping to see some great footage of the festivities on 10.10.10.

I live in Salem, Massachusetts. The Witch City. Every year during the month of October... wizards, warlocks and sightseers flock to this enchanted village from around the world to celebrate Halloween. Some display creative costumes... others are there only to behold the bewitched. If the lunatic fringe is in full swing by 10-10-10... I might just document the story.

I've never walked it myself but have driven it often - it is a relatively straight shot through Skid Row, the Jewelry District, Bunker Hill (business district), Disney Hall (slight jog north), Staples Center and LA Live (slight jog south), Koreatown, Hancock Park, Park La Brea, Miracle Mile, Beverly Hills and Rodeo Drive, Westwood, Brentwood, Santa Monica and the Pacific Ocean.

The downtown portion is a good place for you to start. Check it out during the Downtown ArtWalk for maximum people and energy.

And welcome to LA!

JC - did you create the route yourself? I'm from New York and I miss walking everywhere now that I live out here in LA. I'd love to do what you're doing some day - have a great time!

My wife and I are shooting a walking tour of Los Angeles, CA. The route, which starts in the east and crosses the 7th or 4th Street bridge over the LA River into downtown and then west along Wilshire Blvd to the ocean, is approximately 22 miles and covers scores of neighborhoods, burgs, barrios and districts. We hope to complete the route in 24 hours. We have a small support team but if you are in LA and would like to assist, please send me word, we would love to have you join us en route.

Hi all. I live in London which offers a wide range of filming options. I'm still deciding whether I should loose myself between Chinatown and Soho or spend the morning in zone 1 (the heart of London) and the noon in zone 6 (degradated boroughs). I like the idea of highlighting opposites situations in the same urban space almost at the same moment.
