The Cluster Munition Coalition and the International Campaign to Ban Landmines are civil society campaigns working for a world free of cluster munitions and landmines, where survivors of these weapons see their rights respected and can lead fulfilling lives. Our members in some 90 countries include organizations and dedicated individuals working on disarmament, peace and security, human rights, victim/survivor assistance, mine and cluster munition clearance, women's rights, faith issues and other related issues. We call for the full universalization and implementation of the 1997 Mine Ban Treaty and the 2008 Convention on Cluster Munitions. The International Campaign to Ban Landmines received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1997.

Cluster bombs have killed and injured thousands of civilians during the last 40 years and continue to do so today. They cause widespread harm on impact and continue to kill and injure civilians long after a conflict has ended. One third of all recorded cluster munitions casualties are children.

Antipersonnel landmines claim victims in every corner of the globe each day. Incapable of distinguishing between the footfall of a soldier and that of a civilian, they instill fear in communities in some 70 countries and areas. They slow repatriation of displaced people and deprive communities of productive land.

We work through our members to change government policy and practice on these weapons, and to raise public awareness of the problem.
