About Climate Action Partnership:
Climate Action Partnership work with partner organizations and selected demonstration projects within these organizations to promote and support ecosystems-based adaptation to and mitigation of climate change. CAP raises awareness around climate change and the role of healthy ecosystems in building resilience for both biodiversity and society. CAP funds pilot projects exploring adaptation and mitigation options in South Africa across a range of ecosystems, including arid Namaqualand and sub-tropical Kwazulu Natal. CAP works with the partner organizations to input into policy-making, strategy planning, and to support climate change and biodiversity conservation research. Such efforts necessarily involve working with local people to ensure sustainable livelihoods for the people of South Africa.
Partner Organizations:
BirdLife South Africa (BLSA); the Botanical Society of South Africa (BotSoc); Conservation South Africa/Khusel'Indalo (CSA); the Endangered Wildlife Trust (EWT); the Wilderness Foundation; the Wildlands Conservation Trust (WCT); the Wildlife and Environment Society of South Africa (WESSA), and the World Wide Fund for Nature South Africa (WWF-SA).
