Call to Action: On 10/10/10, let your inner animal shine.

*act like a monkey, roar like a tiger, laugh like a hyena, bark like a dog, swim like a fish*

(Animal Concerns Research & Education Society) is a charity and Institution of Public Character, founded by Singaporeans in 2001 with the aim of promoting animal welfare.

We have six focus areas:
Wildlife Rescue & Rehabilitation,
Wildlife Crime Investigation,
Captive Animal Welfare,
Education,
Community Outreach,
Promoting Cruelty-Free Living.

We have rescued, treated, and rehabilitated over 700 animals since the official opening of the ACRES Wildlife Rescue Centre (AWRC) in August 2009. We run our rescue services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Our investigations have led to many wildlife criminals being brought to task. Our campaigns and engagements with the government have led to vast improvements to the welfare of animals and even improvements to national laws.

We believe education is the key to ending animal cruelty. We work closely with schools and community groups in order to ensure that today’s children grow up with empathy, compassion and respect for all animals as well as each other, and are inspired to change their world for the better. To date, we have conducted over 300 road shows and talks, and we reach over 100,000 children and adults every year.

We now have over 21,000 volunteers in our database. Our volunteer opportunities promote volunteerism in Singapore and create a more caring and compassionate society.

Over 230 media articles about our animal protection efforts have been published in newspapers and magazines, and our work has been featured on television and radio stations both locally and internationally.
