“How did you use technology in your work environment this week?”
Can you answer this question? If you are an EMDT student or grad, I’m sure you can.
And I would really like you to.
On October 10, 2010 you are invited to share with the world a little about what you are doing with the tools and skills you have developed through the EMDT program.
On this day, http://www.onedayonearth.org/ is creating a global time capsule. Each participant will upload a short video documenting what happened in his or her part of the world.
The students of EMDT can share the power of our program with the world. On Sunday, October 10, I ask you to submit your media-charged answer to my opening question.
Create a media asset: it can be a simple photo, drawing, audio podcast, PDF, slideshow…whatever feels right. This you can do anytime before 10/10/10.
On 10/10, I want you to go to this link:
http://www.wallwisher.com/wall/emdtoneday
This is the official “One Day on Earth” EMDT Wall Wisher. Here you will post your answer.
It is very easy to add content to this page, simple double-click anywhere on the wall and a posting widget appears. Here you can simply add text, or if you have media with a URL address, enter the link, and voila – you have just posted.
You can add:
• Audio
• Video (don’t use the embed code, only the URL)
• PDFs
• Slideshows
• Photos
As long as your media has a URL, you are good to go. Photos should be uploaded to Flickr, Photobucket, or any other online storage website that provides a URL for your image.
I have posted a PDF in my iDisk public folder (emdt_acd_3) if you would like more details on creating and managing your own Wall Wisher page. And, if Wall Wisher should break due to our collection of content, you can upload your media to this folder as backup.
I will document the building of our wall all day long. You can start posting from 12:01 am until 11:59 pm. Let’s see how much content we can create! Let’s show the world about the power of online creation and collaboration – key aspects of the EMDTMS program.
While you are planning what you will create, stop by our Facebook page and let me know you will be participating. Also, you can register at www.onedayonearth.org and create a profile, and link to mine: http://www.onedayonearth.org/profile/TomLucas
You will also be able to join our group: http://www.onedayonearth.org/group/fullsailuniversityemdt
And finally, you may also engage in further social networking by submitting an RSVP on our Facebook event page: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=156944447666852
On 10/10 – after you have posted - I would like you to then email me and tell me a bit about yourself and the media you posted. This way I can keep track of our wall’s construction, and if anything should go awry, I will still have material to comment on.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me:
