The African Development Bank communications team, accompanied by a local Tunisian film crew, went down to the medina in Tunis today and filmed fair-trade carpet-weaving in the souks to illustrate a pilot project the Bank has launched along with 18 partners, called Souk At-Tanmia ("Market for Development" in Arabic). The project provides funding and technical support to 71 beneficiaries, including a rural carpet-weaving collective employing 60 women, to encourage job creation, innovation, rural development, inclusive growth, youth employment and human development. If successful, the Souk At-Tanmia initiative could be replicated in more countries. For background: http://www.afdb.org/en/news-and-events/article/afdb-wants-souk-at-t.... I documented the day with still photos and interviews and will be providing a behind-the-scenes look at the AfDB's 12.12.12: One Day on Earth film project tomorrow on the AfDB website: afdb.org. I hope to be filming about my efforts to build a consensus for a global truce and a global cease fire. I hope to inspire a nation to sponsor and cosponsor a United Nations Resolution to expand upon the UN Resolution 55/282 which established 9/21 as the International Day of Peace with a one day global truce and a one day global cease fire.

I hope to have a new resolution introduced into the UN calling for the National and International Peace Every Day Resolution and Treaty For Global Truce and Global Cease Fire: International Every Day Of Peace Day 9/21.

I am calling for all world leaders and all non state combatant force leaders to sign the treaty and simultaneously command a one year annually renewable cease fire to their military and non state combatant forces.

I encourage those interested to film on the theme of what we have and what we need to build peace one day on Earth.

Hopefully next year more and more people may wish to think about this topic and decide what they can do to help peace to prevail on Earth.

Please see www.goingforaglobaltruce.com and peaceoneday.org for more information.

The United States incarcerates more people per capita than any country on earth. Most inmates who are released from prison will be back within a year. If you have a felony drug conviction, you will never receive food stamps, student loans, or sleep a single night in public housing again.

A New Way of Life Prison Re-entry Project and its founder Susan Burton is determined to defy the odds, helping one woman at a time to rebuild their lives after prison.

Climate change. For me, there is no greater cause. That is what I will be filming on 12.12.12.

Hi everyone, what cause will you document on 12.12.12? What are you fighting for this year?
