Dear all,

This is the slideshow made of photos my students took and their comments in English. My students are 11-year-old girls and boys from Velika Gorica, Croatia. They enjoyed the activity, learned some English in the process and I enjoyed very much helping them.

Hi, everyone!!!
We are from Braslav Stete Gymnasium. We want to tell you about the action that took place in our school on 11.11.11.

Dear iEARN friends,

This is a reminder that the deadline for submitting 11.11.11 videos and photos to http://www.OneDayonEarth.org - is one week from today: Sunday, 11 December. If you haven't uploaded yet, please do so this week!

Tips:
1) You need to make an account on OneDayonEarth.org in order to upload. It's easy and free; however, students must be at least 13 years old to make an account, according to their rules. Younger students should post through their teacher's account. This is a separate account from your iEARN account; they are partnering with iEARN for this special project, but they maintain their own website and accounts.

2) Likewise, when you start to upload, it will prompt you to make a Vimeo.com account, if you don't already have one. Again, it's easy to do, and free.

3) If internet bandwidth is a concern, you may want to export a smaller version of your video for uploading. If the filmmakers behind ODOE want to use your work in their film, they will contact you directly for your original footage.

4) DON'T bother with complex edits, quick cuts, titles, music, etc., unless you have the time and motivation. The filmmakers prefer the original, "raw", unedited footage anyway.

5) Be sure to follow their instructions carefully, and 'tag' your videos fully. Please mention that you are an iEARN teacher/school/student somewhere, as well!

6) If you have technical troubles, make sure you are using the most recent version of Firefox or Chrome for your computer, and that you have the latest version of Flash installed.

7) Be patient, keep trying, and don't hesitate to ask for help!

Finally, when you are done, PLEASE be sure to copy your video's URL address once it is posted, and post it in our iEARN One Day in the Life forum under '11.11.11 Documents' at http://foro.iearn.org/webx?230@@.1ebdc453 so we can all enjoy your videos and reply to them!

Also note: If you have text or other documents from 11.11.11 that you just want to share on iEARN, there's no deadline for the iEARN forum. Just post when you can! And even more importantly, please encourage your students to look at all the amazing work and then REPLY!

My students are now editing and uploading photos, video, audio, and written diary entries from 11/11/11. I have 69 freshmen students who participated, and they are excited to view documentation from around the world! We are collaborating with Natiliya Byzova's class in Kiev, and we look forward to a dialogue with all of you! You can visit our group to see more.
