What did you film on 12.12.12?: A lot can happen in 24 hours where I come from. From people walking in the streets to social uprising during the day and special meetings in the evening. Our youth are tired of living with their parents so they find an open space and in a couple of hours can decide to start building the shacks. If you ask why, all you hear is...Its been 16 years since the end of apartheid and we are tired. Are there no other means? There are but with poverty, there's less education and information and it is not easily transferable so how do we get the same government we voted for to meet the needs of the people. It is quite simple. We follow people with inborn leadership skills but lack the resources and see what can be done in one day, they can get an opportunity to engage with the leaders. In one day, in 24 hours, our community in Embalenhle goes through alot but there are kids who always show the other side of poverty too, happiness.
