This year the event coincided with the 8 month anniversary of the Great East Japan earthquake and tsunami. I went together with some friends to interview and document the situation in a town called Ishinomaki. Met some extraordinary people trying to get their lives and towns back together, and shot some very raw footage of the remains of the disaster- The clean up is underway, but the task is enormous, and the issues to consider for rebuilding are very complex.
