Living Data: How animation can bring scientific data to life

I'm excited to be witnessing so many stories connecting here! How can I contribute? Perhaps the stories that I am part of telling can find their way into the One Day on Earth.

The Living Data website is evolving to visualise the Big Picture Story: Our place within the global system and to archive animations that collectively tell the story. The Living Data Blog documents methods that are used to make and present animations, and to record responses to these.

Why animation? This art of change and transformation can be used to express scientific knowledge in ways that appeal to our sense of place in the environment.

Climate change data are brought to life through expressions of connection to the environment. Animations are developed through associations between scientists and visual and performing artists. Core data come from scientists at the Climate Change Cluster, University of Technology, Sydney and the Australian Antarctic Division.
