My 4-6 grade students took photos of their communities on 10/10/10. They learned a great deal from the process of making their collaborative videos. If you have a minute please look at what they have created and please comment. We LOVE when we get comments!

Linda,
What district do you teach in down there? I opened Williams Field High School in the Higley Unified Dist. in Gilbert, AZ, but have recently moved to Wyoming. My friend David Nuttall, the video teacher from Higley High, is possibly going to participate in this project too. Not sure if you're in the East valley, but if you are, it might be fun to collaborate with his students. They have all kinds of cameras and production gear that is state of the art and on par with anything being used for HD broadcast television. If you are interested, look him up on the HUSD website at www.husd.org, go to Higley High, and find David Nuttall. I hope it cools off for you guys a little bit!
I don't think that the date being a Sunday will be a bad thing. The students will not be confined to school, so they might actually get some more original footage. My plan is to have the students set up schedules for their projects and then bring all the film back on Monday.
