The World's Story is Yours to Tell
Elderly, Fashion, Volunteerism, Spirit, Youth, Art, Urban Night Rain-walk, and Ecstatic-dance-feet in Carrboro, NC, USA 12/12/12 (Footage, not edited very much, is potential contribution to "One Day on Earth" and was all collected on 12/12/12. Audio has not been edited/augmented at all.) The opening shot is a self-portrait of me, the videographer, in the mirror of the women's rest room with my primary (HD) camera. Then we see a performer with a big smile in an orange sari backstage having her make-up put on her. Next are brief glimpses of a fashion show performed at a senior center, which includes a vivacious, sequined emcee and dancer and a sequence of models in jewel-colored saris making a prayer. All of the senior center audience leave the auditorium in sped-up footage. Then we see a sweet six-year old (of Indian and Colombian descent) playing pool, hiding under a staircase and interacting with a smart phone and his mother. Next is an artist making her signature spiritual, human-connection-oriented, vibrant marker-line drawings in a busy cafe, and then we walk with her in the sparkling night rain (via underwater housing for an SD camera) against a graffiti-ed urban landscape to a dance studio, where many feet are grooving (in sped-up footage) to the music at "Ecstatic Dance." Special thanks to Angie, Rangadevi, Vanamali, Kerry and Jewels!
